Bullrun’s roots began with two brothers learning the work side by side and building Bay Area homes together.
Before Bullrun Design & Build, Thienphu Gia Cao—known as Tim Phu—worked alongside his brother, Khanh Phi Nguyen, through KPN Builders. Those early years were grounded in practical experience: reading plans, coordinating trades, solving field conditions, and carrying residential projects through the details that turn drawings into homes.
BuildZoom lists Khanh Phi Nguyen as KPN Builders’ RMO, CEO, and President. Its public profile reports an active California license spanning general building, electrical, and plumbing work, along with 25 permitted projects and a BuildZoom score of 107.
As Tim’s experience and vision grew, he began leading individual residential projects and established Bullrun as his own chapter—an owner-led company focused on ground-up homes, additions, and remodels. The name changed, but the foundation remained: family, hands-on knowledge, and pride in building homes that last.
